At IT Link, we love supporting the projects our Linkers are passionate about. That is why we are partnering with the "Graines de Sportives" project, in which our colleague Eva Roger is participating.
Taking action starting in primary school
In France, only 33% of girls aged 6 to 17 meet the WHO's physical activity recommendations, compared to 51% of boys (source: Santé Publique France, 2024). This drop-off intensifies upon entering middle school, where girls account for nearly two-thirds of young people who do not engage in any regular physical activity.
To reverse this trend, "Graines de Sportives" relies on an educational approach built directly with partner primary and middle schools:
- Before: classroom sessions to discuss the role of women in sports, foster a love for physical effort, and break down stereotypes from an early age.
- During the journey: real-time tracking of the route, designed as an interactive tool to engage students on a daily basis.
- After the race: meetings and discussions with the runners to share lessons from the adventure and provide children with relatable female athletic role models.
450 km in a continuous relay
From September 29 to October 1st, the collective will take on a demanding challenge: covering 450 km in a continuous relay, day and night, to connect two primary schools and two middle schools between Brittany and Paris. The adventure will also result in an educational documentary to be screened in schools.
Our commitment
IT Link is a financial and technical partner for the event. Our design office has developed the official project web platform, allowing partner classes and the general public to track the relay's geographical progress in real time.
The entire IT Link team wishes the Graines de Sportives the best of luck with this wonderful collective challenge!
