Chain of acquisition, monitoring and assessment of sensor data

Problem

Ensure the real-time monitoring of the transportation of high-risk substances to prevent leakage following an accident or malicious act.

Solution

For more than 10 years, the IT Link teams have been developing various tools to meet the operational requirements for the acquisition, centralization, monitoring and assessment of sensitive events transmitted from remote sites.
Involved since the development of a first proximity detection beacon by our client, IT Link began by developing a system for acquiring data from a network consisting of a single type of detector and a remote tool for monitoring the alerts it generated.
The second phase consisted of expanding the solution to cover different types of sensor networks with different formats and exchange protocols. This industrialization phase led to the definition and implementation of an interoperable and secure database, the data fed into it, and scaling the monitoring tool to the new capacities of the deployed networks. Data inflow simulation tools have also been developed to ensure the robustness of the solution with respect to likely crisis scenarios.
The third phase consisted of developing assessment tools to support decision-making in situations of stress where a rapid response is required.
This suite of tools also makes it possible to populate a repository of simulations that imitate real life situations in order to characterize the risk elements detected.
